Dr. Lino Coria is an associate teaching professor at Northeastern University’s Khoury College of Computer Sciences (Vancouver campus). He holds a Master’s degree in electrical engineering from McMaster University and a Ph.D. in electrical and computer engineering from the University of British Columbia. Lino has twenty years of experience in both industry and academia.
Lino’s research focuses on image processing and computer vision, with multiple publications on topics such as blind signal separation, digital image and video watermarking, and 3D quality of experience.
He has taught at ITESO University in Mexico, the University of British Columbia, Langara College, and CINVESTAV. He also worked as a research engineer at various Vancouver start-ups, developing computer vision algorithms and machine learning models for applications in online video optimization, custom footwear design, and agricultural technology.
Since 2016, Lino has volunteered as a mentor to newcomers in the tech sector through the Immigrant Employment Council of BC (IEC-BC). In 2023, he was appointed Area Chair – Broadening Participation at Khoury College.
