Sezzy Beasley

she/her

Director HR Business Partner, North America (Sr. HRBP), TiMi Studio Group, a subsidiary of Tencent Games

Sezzy’s work experience was formed through a unique combination of both marketing and HR, originating with the completion of her Bachelor of Commerce degree with a double major in Human Resource Management and Marketing. Later relocating to London UK, she led the marketing team, e-commerce initiatives, and ran the international internships program as the Marketing Manager for an enterprise agency (working in partnership with the business startup teams of Camden and Islington, funded by Business Link London). After returning to Canada, Sezzy found herself gravitating more and more towards HR, culture, organizational design and effectiveness business functions and made the leap to a formalized HR role when appointed as Corporate Human Resources Manager in 2013. She went on to hone her strategic HR and people operations skill set as a HR Lead at the worldwide marketing communications agencies network: DDB (a division of Omnicom Inc.).

Breaking into the tech and interactive entertainment/video game industry actually took place over the pandemic, after Sezzy began playing video games during the initial lockdowns. She realized the blue ocean of potential where creativity and innovation meets entertainment and services, and wanted to be apart of it. Sezzy has been the Strategic HR Business Partner for Improbable Worlds Ltd. Global People Operations team for the Canada region, as well as took on the role of Head of People for Inflexion Games as they separated as an independent game studio from Improbable. More recently, Sezzy has returned to her strength in connecting global team and business partnership and in early 2023, started as the Director HR Business Partner – North America for Tencent Games’ internal games division, TiMi Studio Group, overseeing their studios in Montreal, Seattle and LA.

Sezzy is a people-first relationship builder, community connector, inclusive diversity & belonging advocate, culture & engagement aficionado, lifelong learner, informed optimist and ally. To add to that, she is also a quintessential dog/animal lover, fantasy/sci-fi genre fan, broadway musicals enthusiast, and proud Canadian.
