Shauna Grinke currently leads the People and Culture function for Lush North America – an organization with an activist’s soul committed to campaigning for climate justice and human rights, and fighting animal testing. Lush North America employs over 3000 staff at 250 retail locations across the US and Canada, 5 manufacturing and distribution facilities, an e-commerce function and hybrid (remote and office-based) corporate office. Each of these work environments had different challenges in the COVID era of 2020/2021. While many of the corporate office team as well as the customer call centre moved their offices home in March 2020, other parts of the business navigated either temporary closures of their work place (retail), exponential growth (ecommerce) and a completely different way of safely doing their day-to-day work (manufacturing and distribution). Living into one of Lush’s leadership practices “Adapt and Evolve”, the passionate Lushies in this diverse organization have truly learned and evolved through the pandemic to position the organization to thrive in a post- COVID era.
