With more than 20 years in games and tech, East Side Games (ESG) co-founder and GM Josh Nilson continues to drive the company’s business and culture while championing the industry as one for the masses.
Josh was named Person of the Year as part of BC Tech’s Technology Impact Awards in 2022 and was included in the BC500 list of influential business leaders in British Columbia for the second consecutive year. The studio was also named one of Canada’s Top Growing Companies of 2022 and has been shortlisted for Best Mobile Developer as part of the Pocket Gamer Awards.
Under Josh’s leadership, ESG has been named one of Pocket Gamers Top 50 Mobile Game Makers. Furthermore, in 2021, the company was recognized as one of Canada’s Most Admired Corporate Cultures and a finalist for Best Mobile Game Developer, Game Changer – Diversity and Inclusion, as well as Company of the Year – Scale – Technology Impact.
ESG was also the winner in the first ever BC Business “Business of Good Awards” in the Indigenous Prosperity category. ESG has launched several world-class games including Trailer Park Boys: Greasy Money, which is celebrating its fifth anniversary, RuPaul’s Drag Race Superstar, The Office: Somehow We Manage,Star Trek: Lower Decks – The Badgey Directive and, most recently, Doctor Who: Lost In Time. In 2021, ESG joined East Side Games Group (TSX:EAGR), Canada’s largest mobile game studio listed and has since then surpassed revenue milestones.
